Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Lost Outdoors (ABN 58 654 292 501), trading as Rent Ridez, handles your personal information. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Identity and contact details — name, date of birth, email, phone, and residential address.
- Driver licensing — licence number, class, expiry, state of issue, and images of your licence, which we need to verify eligibility and to meet our insurer's requirements.
- Rental and payment records — your agreement, bond, weekly payments, invoices, tolls, infringements and any damage. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
- Vehicle data — odometer readings, charging sessions, servicing history, and, for connected vehicles, location and status data supplied by the manufacturer's API. We use this to manage the fleet, bill usage accurately, and recover vehicles when an agreement ends.
- Website usage — pages viewed, device and browser information, and the advertising click identifiers that tell us which ad or search brought you here.
Why we collect it
To assess applications, decide eligibility, prepare and administer rental agreements, take payment, keep vehicles insured, registered and serviced, transfer tolls and infringements to the responsible driver, meet our legal obligations, and improve our service and advertising. If you do not provide the information we ask for, we may not be able to rent you a vehicle.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where we need to, including to:
- our insurer and insurance broker, for cover, claims and incident reporting;
- our payment processor, to take and reconcile payments;
- toll operators and state transport and enforcement authorities, where an infringement or toll must be transferred to the driver responsible;
- service providers who host our systems, send our email and provide analytics;
- debt recovery agents and our professional advisers, where an account is in default; and
- anyone else where you have consented or the law requires or permits it.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
With your permission, this site uses Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to understand how the site is used and to measure advertising. These tools may set cookies that let Google and Meta recognise your browser across sites. They do not load until you choose "Allow analytics". If you choose "Necessary only", the fleet, pricing, application form and advertising-attribution links still work. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
How we hold it
Your information is held in access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. We keep it only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires — rental, tax and insurance records are generally retained for at least seven years — and then destroy or de-identify it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Write to hello@rentridez.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is no fee to ask.
If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
