An example, not a promise. A car earns only while it is rented. The weekly rents are what we charge for cars like these in our own fleet, checked on 8 October 2026. Your share is before the membership ($29.99 a month per car, none for the first {{slots}} cars for {{months}} months) and your own costs: registration, servicing and your insurance.

How it works

From sign-up to rented

Four steps, and the first two are in your own hands. No form to post and no waiting for a call.

STEP 01

Create your login

Two minutes, online. Your owner login arrives by email and you are in. No forms to post and no waiting for a call.

STEP 02

Add your car

Enter the car, take its photos from the angles the app shows you, upload its papers and sign your agreement, all on your phone. A built-in guide covers each step a rented car needs, with the official links and what they cost.

STEP 03

We find the renter

Once the car's papers are checked we advertise it, check the renter, get the contract signed and take the bond. You meet the renter, hand over the keys and record it in the app.

STEP 04

Rent comes in weekly

The app takes the rent from the renter's card every week, tries a failed payment again and sends the reminders. Each payment and your share of it shows in your login.

You insure

You keep 85% of the rent after GST.

You arrange the insurance and pay for it. It has to be a policy that covers the car while it is rented out. An ordinary private policy does not. We need your certificate before the car goes to a renter.

Good to know

What does Rent Ridez charge?
15% of the rent after GST, taken only from rent that has been collected. Plus the membership, $29.99 a month per car, GST included.
Do I have to wait for someone to ring me?
No. You create your owner login online and it arrives by email. You add the car, upload its papers and sign your agreement there. If you would like to talk it through first, ring us on 07 3062 9501.
Does it cost anything to sign up?
No. The membership starts on the day a renter first picks a car up, so a car that is waiting for its papers or a renter costs nothing. Our fee comes only from rent that has been collected.
How long does a renter take the car for?
At least a month. This is not a daily or a weekend hire, so there is one renter to deal with, not a new one every few days.
Do you promise an income?
No. A car earns only while it is rented, and what it rents for depends on the car. The numbers on this page are examples from our own fleet.
Who insures the car?
Today you do, with a policy that covers the car while it is rented out. An ordinary private policy does not. We are settling a second way with our insurer, where the car goes on our fleet policy and its cover is passed on to you at cost. It is not open yet.
Who pays for charging, tolls and fines?
The renter. Tolls and Supercharging that land on your accounts come back to you in full once the renter has paid. A fine comes to you as the registered owner: you add it in your owner login so we both keep track, and move it into the renter's name with the details and the steps we give you.
What if the car is damaged?
The renter pays a bond before they take the car. You record the pickup and the return in the app, with photos of the car from every side, so there is a record of what was already there. How damage and an insurance excess are handled is set out in your owner agreement, which you read in full before you sign.
What if a renter stops paying?
The app tries the card again and sends the reminders, and your owner login shows when rent is behind. If it still does not come in, we end the rental and arrange to get the car back. The renter is charged for that, not you. Your share comes only from rent that is collected.
Who does the renter deal with?
You, for the car itself: you hand it over, you take it back, and they ring you if something is wrong with it. Their rent, bond, tolls and fines run through our app.
Can my car be used for Uber?
Yes, once it has a booked hire service licence and an inspection certificate. You hold the licence for your car, in your own name or your company's, and the setup guide shows you how to get it.
My car is not a Tesla. Can it join?
Yes. We run hybrids, SUVs, utes and budget cars as well. A GPS tracker is fitted before a car that is not a Tesla goes out.
I am not in Queensland. Can I still sign up?
You can leave your details. We run cars on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane today and keep a list for every other state. We will tell you when we open near you.
How and when am I paid?
Your share is worked out from each rent payment and shows in your owner login. How and when it is paid to you is set out in your owner agreement.
Can I get my car back?
Yes. It is your car. A renter may have it at the time, so the notice we need is set out in your owner agreement.
